I cannot say that I have always loved fitness, or that I have been involved in sports since I was a child. Music consumed my life long before I was introduced to the world of fitness. I have been a professional musician for over 20 years, and I am part of the successful band, “The Insiders Band.” In the past, working out has always seemed like an insurmountable feat; it seemed like more of a chore than an activity of which I could gain pleasure. Regardless of my previously held misconceptions about working out, I decided that I would tackle the seemingly insurmountable feat in 2006. My fitness journey began in 2006, shortly after the birth of my daughter. After surviving childbirth, and being left with a body I no longer recognized, I dove headfirst into the world of fitness. At first, I was clueless. I tried random fitness programs, like Beach Body P90x, hoping to gain the results I wanted for my mind and body.

I never gained the results I wanted. From the start of my fitness journey, I have heard of CrossFit, but have been apprehensive to try it. In 2015, I overcame my apprehension and stepped foot into the box, Limerick Athletics. My whole view of fitness changed. I was amazed by the functionality of the sport. I was overcome by the acceptance of the community. I was inspired by the way supposedly impossible workouts could be modified for every skill level. I was hooked, and I finally began seeing the results I wanted.
In 2016, motivated by my love of helping others and my dedication to learning the science and technique behind CrossFit and fitness, I decided to get my L1 certificate and begin coaching. Coaching offers me the chance to help others find their unique ways in which they can use their own skills and the principles of Crossfit to gain the most out of their work out. I try to employ what I have learned, and continue to learn, to break down each movement in a way that makes each participant understand how to complete the movement correctly. I strive to ensure that all participants know the appropriate muscles to engage in order to facilitate a movement accurately. I also seek to continue learning through further CrossFit educational courses, reading, and observing my fellow CrossFit peers and colleagues. I am forever thankful for what CrossFit has enabled me to accomplish in my personal life, and I hope I can help positively impact others’ lives through further CrossFit educational courses, reading, and observing my fellow CrossFit peers and colleagues.
